Literacy: Instructions

Choral and Performance Poetry

Maths: Multiplying and dividing by 10,100 and 1000; solving word problems; using a calculator; finding common multiples; reflections and translations

ICC (International Creative Curriculum): Aztecs – timeline, geography, art, creating a museum exhibition

Science: Changing State

PSHE: Good To Be Me, Going For Goals

RE: Worship, Pilgrimage and Sacred Places – Christianity (focus on La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona)

PE: The children will be having PE lessons with Mr Hooper and Miss Parsons (tag rugby and multiskills)

Music: Music will be with Mrs Hellebronth

French: Numbers beyond 20, colours, pets

ICT: VLE, Quadblogging, Aztec research

Autumn Term (2nd Half) 2011

Literacy: Film Narrative (The Piano)

Narrative Poetry (The Highwayman)

Maths: Properties of 3D shapes; using facts such as number bonds; doubles; fractions; multiplication and division

ICC (International Creative Curriculum): Migration – refugees, reasons for migration, natural disasters, making bags

    We are your quadblogging class from Tasmania, Australia. We were interested to read your ‘What we are learning page’ to see you learn lots of the same things as we do at school. We are in our third and last term of 2011. In our first term we also had a focus on persuasive writing. We continue to learn our x tables. Some people have learnt them all and others are still learning and making connections with facts we know. We learn Japanese instead of French and are learning ICT at the moment through our blog and blogging. We have really enjoyed our time blogging this year and some of our students have started wondeful blogs themselves. We are wondering why your class is callled Mel Clarke.

    • its named mel clarke class because all of are classes in the school are the name of a famouse english olympion to celebrate the 2012 olympics

  4. There I was standing there eye to eye with that thing that I never think I would see in my life. A teeth ripping meat eating tiger. I freezed I took two steps back. I found that it was a stormy and wet day. there was even lightning and it was raining which made the tiger more determent to pounced and kill. I felt like I was going to die I felt like shouting help but there was no one there except snakes creepy crawls and my soul.

    All sounds good learning things,I’d love to learn about the aztecs and the museum bit of it sounds fun!!!
    I like the idea of doing the Highwayman as a literacy project it sounds interesting and you would learn a lot about poetry and performance.Happy learning,francesca
